Queso Blanco Dip
We continue onto Week 8 of College Football, which means another delicious Football bite! Here is one easy and delicious appetizer that is perfect for a Saturday afternoon full of football! Queso Blanco is one of my favorite appetizers to get at Mexican restaurants. Don Pablos used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant to order Queso Blanco, but since there is not a single Don Pablos in the state of Illinois, I had to recreate it in my own kitchen. This recipe is so quick and easy you can have it on your table in less than 10 minutes! You can adjust the heat to your liking by adding more jalapenos and Tabasco sauce.
Queso Blanco Dip
Easy cheese dip made with white American cheese. Serve with tortilla chips!
Yield: 4-6 servings
Ingredients:
1 lb white American cheese (I used Boar’s Head White American)
2 (4 ounce) cans diced green chilies, undrained
½ to 1 cup heavy cream, depending on thickness of dip you like
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
1/2 jalapeno, seeded and minced
3 tablespoons salsa
Tabasco sauce to taste
Directions:
Combine cheese, green chilies, heavy cream, cayenne pepper, jalapeno, salsa and Tabasco sauce in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir until smooth. Adjust the seasonings to taste. Serve with tortilla chips.

I’ll definitely be able to make this for a party! Thanks Christina!
Game day just got a little more festive. I can’t wait to give it a try!
What a great lineup. Cheese dip is soooo popular down here. You should enter in next year’s world cheese dip competition. Yes, there really is one!
Mmmmm…I haven’t had a good queso blanco dip in ages. I used to eat it all the time when I was younger and, to be honest, I forgot about it until you posted this. Now I definitely have to make it!
Looks delicious. If you’re looking for a Mexican place, Sol Azteca (in Washington) is great – their white cheese dip is amazing! And the fajita quesadilla.
Definitely my favorite things to splurge on at the Mexican restaurant.
I love good queso!! I always order it when I go out to eat!!
This looks so good! I make the plain old Velveeta/Rotel Queso. It’s really good, but Velveeta kinda creeps me out. What is “cheese food”? Anyway, thanks for the recipe! I’m excited to try it.
Perfect football dip. I love cheese dip and this one would be right up my alley!
I think I need to throw a party just to have some of these yummy dishes. Great party foods.
Yum, yum, yum. And did I say…..yum?!
