New Features on Sweet Pea’s Kitchen

You might have noticed how things look quite different around here lately! For the past few months I have been working with Lindsay of Purr Design to create a custom web design for my blog. I am so excited to show you all of the user-friendly features! I hope you enjoy the new website as much as I do, I think Lindsay did an amazing job!

New Recipe Features:

Each recipe now has a print icon that will take you to a printer friendly version of the recipe. I have to reformat each and every one of my recipes (that’s over 720!) to include these new features. I am trying to get it done as quickly as possible. If you find a recipe that is not reformatted yet, don’t worry it will be soon. Hopefully in about a week or so all the recipes will have this new format. To print the recipe just click on the “print” button, it’s that easy!

New Recipe Index:

The recipe index is now user-friendly and broken down into categories. You can access the recipe index by clicking on “recipes” in the top bar.

After clicking on “recipes” it will take you to all the recipes on my site. It is broken down into categories, recipes by date, and recipes by ingredient. By clicking on the “Breakfast/Brunch” category …

It will take you to a visual recipe index of all of the recipes that are categorized as Breakfast/Brunch. From there just click on the recipe you want to see and print it out!

New Partnership with Ziplist:

I have teamed up with ZipList, the free, easy-to-use online recipe box where you can save your favorite recipes from Sweet Pea’s Kitchen. You can even add your own family recipes so all your favorites are right in one place! With Ziplist you can search and save recipes not only from Sweet Pea’s Kitchen, but from 1000′s of popular food websites. No more searching site-to-site to find your favorite recipes. All of your recipes are saved in one place! ZipList also makes it easy for you to create and manage your weekly grocery shopping list. If you have an iPhone or Android, you can access your recipe box and shopping list from ZipList’s free mobile apps too.

How to Sign Up:

From the top bar, just click on Recipe Box…

If you already have a Ziplist account, then you will be taken directly to your own online recipe box! If you haven’t signed up yet a form will appear for you to sign up and start using it.

Once you have created an account you can start saving recipes to your online recipe box!  Just click on the save button on any Sweet Pea’s Kitchen recipe to save it. The recipe will be saved to your ZipList recipe box where you can even create an online grocery shopping list!

Once you have added the recipe to your online recipe box, you can choose the ingredients that you want to add to your shopping list.  Just click on “add to list”.

All of the ingredients needed for the recipe will show up. You choose the ingredients that you need, and click “add items”. All of the items are then saved to your online shopping list!

To access your shopping list, just click on the Shopping List at the top of the page. You can even access your shopping list on the go using your iPhone or Android!

I am very excited about all of these new user-friendly features! I hope you enjoy them! If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me! 😀

Great stuff. For us old foggies it is really helpful that you had a post to explain all this stuff & show us visually how it works. Great learning tool. The new site looks great.

I love what you’ve done with the place!
And the tutorial is very helpful. I’d like to add something like this but there is, as you probably know, such a long “To Do” list.
Well done bringing this all together. And you still have your day job!

Thank you so much for the work you put into your blog. I don’t think I could do it, but I’m not the creative person you are. Thanks for the updates and keep those wonderful recipes coming.
