What is a Hawaiian Chicken Taco

Hawaiian chicken is chicken that features soy sauce and pineapple. These flavors are traditional in Hawaiian flavors. When the flavors combine it great a sweet and sour and salty flavor and it tastes so good. While normally this kind of Hawaiian Chicken would be served over rice, in this case, it is being turned into a pull chicken taco. With all these things combined, this becomes a delicious Hawaiian Instant Pot Chicken Taco. With the twist of citrus added to these chicken tacos, it creates a light dinner that doesn’t feel hot and heavy even on the hottest of days.

What Tortilla Should I Use with Healthy Chicken Tacos?

These healthy chicken tacos can be eaten without guilt. They are lower in fat and calories thanks to the chicken and all of the ingredients are good for you. You might be wondering what tortilla should I use with healthy chicken tacos. Deciding what tortilla is best depends if you are only counting calories or calories and fat. If choosing by calories, corn tortillas are lower in calories, however, Whole Wheat tortillas are lower in fat and higher in protein.

Do I Have to Add Pineapple to Hawaiian Chicken?

One of the key ingredients in Hawaiian Chicken is pineapple. The pineapple helps to create the sweet and sour profile that is most associated with Hawaiian flavors. While pineapple is key to creating that flavor profile, you can always eliminate it. You can choose to add pineapple juice, another citrus flavor or eliminate it altogether. The flavor will be different from the chicken tacos with pineapple, but the tacos will still taste fantastic.

How to Store Instant Pot Chicken Tacos

Once the chicken tacos are ready, you might find that you made too many. You can store the leftovers in the refrigerator or the freezer. If storing the tacos in the refrigerator, be sure to store it in an airtight container or wrapped well with plastic. The Hawaiian Chicken will stay fresh for about 3 days. If you have made too much chicken than what can be eaten in a few days, or you have made this recipe to use as a freezer meal, simply store the pulled chicken taco in a freezer bag. This is the easiest way to freeze the chicken. When using the freezer bags, you can freeze the chicken in individual servings or in a larger bag as a second dinner.

How to Reheat Instant Pot Chicken Tacos

There are 2 ways to reheat your leftover chicken tacos. You can use the microwave, Since you only need to heat them through, it will only take a few minutes, depending on your microwave and the amount you are reheating. The better option is to reheat the Hawaiian Chicken in a saucepan or pot on the stovetop. This gives you better control of the reheating process and you can prevent the chicken from being overheated causing it to become dried out. Instant Pot Chicken tacos
