What vegetables go with shrimp

I love to make shrimp. I serve it in many different ways, but I think this is my favorite. I think that shrimp goes with any kind of vegetables but some of the most common I know that other people like to serve with shrimp are:

  • Tomatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Carrots
  • Bell Peppers
  • Carrots
  • Asparagus
  • Zucchini

When you are making these vegetables with tortellini alfredo, you can serve the vegetables on the side or toss them in with the pasta and sauce.

How can I make sure my sauteed shrimp aren’t rubbery?

The best way to make sure that the shrimp do not get rubbery is to not overcook them. I know people are worried about ending up with undercooked shrimp, but when you overcook the shrimp are not as tasty as they should be.

Only cook the shrimp for a few minutes until it is no longer translucent. The shrimp will start to look like cooked shrimp after a few minutes and this is when you will move on to the next step.

How to cook tortellini so it isn’t overdone

When cooking tortellini, make sure to start with salted water. This helps to season the tortellini. Once the water starts to boil, add the pasta. Give it a stir as the water starts to boil again.

When the pasta starts to float, you will want to start removing it from the water. This will give you perfectly cooked tortellini.

How to store sauteed shrimp in tortellini sauce

Once you have enjoyed your dinner and the shrimp and tortellini sauce has cooled, you will need to store this in the refrigerator. Move the shrimp and pasta from the frying pan to the refrigerator. It will need to be stored in an airtight container or in a freezer bag to protect it from moisture and the air.

This meal will stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If it is not finished before it spoils, you can consider moving it to the freezer for up to 3 months.

How to reheat this recipe

If you are ready to eat your leftovers, you will need to reheat it first. I like to reheat it on the stove in a pan. Sometimes the sauce will thicken too much after it has cooled and you may need to add more heavy cream to thin out the sauce. It is possible to use whole milk or half and half to thin the sauce as well. Reheat only until it is warmed through.
