What is the best steak for Fajitas?

The most popular choices are Skirt Steak, Flank Steak, and Sirloin Steak. The choice is up to you. Any of these will work, just be sure to cook them properly.

Do I have to use a cast iron skillet?

No, it is not mandated, I prefer cast iron because it heats evenly. The cast iron will also sear the steak perfectly.

Can I add other vegetables to the fajitas?

The usual additions include mushrooms along with onions and peppers. There are many people who also add pineapple and mango to the fajitas.

What should I serve with Steak Fajitas?

The fajitas can be topped with your favorite toppings and condiments. You could serve a side of Mexican Rice and refried beans along with the fajitas. The fajitas can also be served with a side salad or roasted potatoes.

What type of tortilla should I use for fajitas?

The flour tortilla is the one most often used. Corn tortillas can also be used. The flour tortilla will be larger and hold more, however, the corn tortilla has more flavor.

How should I slice my steak fajitas?

If you mean slicing the steak, then you want to be sure it is cooked thoroughly. Then you will slice it cross-grain. However, another way of slicing the steak to have it thin is to freeze the steak for an hour prior to slicing. This will enable you to slice with much less difficulty.

What toppings go with Steak Fajitas?

The toppings for fajitas could very well be the same as what you choose for Tacos. You can use sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, pico de gallo and salsa.

How long should I marinade the steak?

It is recommended that the minimum amount of time to let the steak marinade is for 4 hours. Depending on the steak you use, that is not always necessary. For example a steak that has a stronger beef flavor does not need to sit in the marinade as long.

How should I store this Steak Fajita Recipe?

The best way to store any leftovers is to wrap the food tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, or to place it in an airtight container. The food can then be placed in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It is not recommended to freeze the leftover Steak fajita mixture as it will become tough and chewy when reheated.

How do I reheat the Steak Fajita mixture?

The steak fajitas can be reheated in a skillet on the stove top, or it can be placed in a preheated oven and warmed up.

Can I make Steak Fajitas in advance?

You can make this a day or two ahead of time. Follow the directions, let the fajitas cool slightly and then place in the refrigerator. Reheat as directed above when ready to serve.
