We are huge fans of these rainbow veggie pinwheels at our house. It’s so simple to get everyone on board with eating their veggies when you are serving so vibrant and delicious. Even the kids will gobble them up without complaining or arguing. I make these pinwheel appetizers as a starter to many dishes, but we even eat it for lunch as well.

Another way we serve these tortilla pinwheels is by cutting them up and tossing them in the kid’s lunchbox for school. Send an apple, orange, or other fruits, and they have a healthy meal that’s loaded with nutrients.

How to Make Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning 

One of the key ingredients of these vegetable tortilla roll ups is the Everything Bagel Seasoning, and the great news is you can make it yourself. You just need to combine one tablespoon of each of the following ingredients:

  • Dried garlic
  • Sea Salt
  • Poppy Seeds
  • Dried Onion
  • Black Sesame Seeds
  • White Sesame Seeds

Once you prepare your own Everything Bagel Seasoning, you can add it to all sorts of foods like sandwiches, toast, bagels, dips, and more. 

Variations to Pinwheels 

You can do so many things with these veggie pinwheels! Adding extra ingredients changes the way the pinwheels taste and the texture too. Let’s take a look at some of our favorite ideas:

  • Chicken – Add some chopped or diced rotisserie chicken. This makes the veggie pinwheels even more hearty and filling. Don’t worry, adding chicken won’t make them dense or anything. 
  • Black Olives – If you love the tangy flavors of black olives, feel free to add in some sliced or chopped olives. They look and taste incredible. 
  • Green Onions – Dice some green onions thinly and sprinkle them into the roll-ups. They are so yummy!
  • Flavored Cream Cheese – Go extra wild and use flavored cream cheese instead of traditional. There are lots to choose from, and as long as you go with one that would taste good with the other ingredients, you are going to be in luck.

Store leftover vegetable pinwheels in a sealed container in the fridge. They will last up to 4 days in the refrigerator. They make fantastic snacks on the go, or when you need a fast and easy pick me up.

Yes, they can be made up to 4 days in advance. If you are serving the pinwheels at a party or event as an appetizer, then it will save you time to prepare them ahead of time. We will often make up a couple of batches when we are heading to a potluck. It’s so handy to be able to make them a day or two before and then grab and go. It’s a huge time saver. 

Can I Swap Out For A Low Carb Tortilla 

Yes, if you are trying to cut back on carbs or eat keto, then using a low carb tortilla is a fabulous option. As a matter of fact, you can use all sorts of different tortillas to change the flavors. They make so many varieties nowadays, like spinach, tomato, basil, and many more. Try out a variety, and you will probably love how gorgeous they look too.

You simply need six ingredients plus tortillas to make a batch of these vegetable wraps. They can easily be adjusted, so they have extra ingredients too. Take a look at what you need to get started.

  • Everything Bagel Seasoning

How Do You Make Veggie Pinwheels 

These easy-to-follow directions will have you munching on veggie pinwheels in no time! I can’t wait for you to bite into them and see how incredible they are. 

Step 1. Rinse and dry all the vegetables very thoroughly. 

Step 2. Cut the veggies into match-sticks. 

Step 3. Lay the tortilla out, then take around 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese and use a knife to spread over the tortilla. 

Step 4. Add some everything bagel seasoning to taste over the cream cheese layer. 

Step 5. Add the vegetables by color put them on the cream cheese. Roll the tortilla tightly. 

Step 6. Using a sharp knife, cut the pinwheels into equal sections.

Instructions

  • Start by rinsing all your vegetables, and drying them. 
  • Then you will want to cut your peppers and cucumbers into match-sticks. 
  • Now with your tortilla laid out, you will take about 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese and spread over the tortilla. 
  • Sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning over the cream cheese.
