Christmas is right around the corner. If you are looking for an appetizer that is perfect for the holidays you need this Spinach Dip Christmas Bread Tree. This spinach dip tree is perfect for get togethers this holiday season.
Ingredients
1Tube Pillsbury Thin Crust Pizza Dough
6oz.Cream cheese softened
12ozFrozen spinach thawed and drained of water
¼tspPepper
½tspSalt
2Clovesminced garlic
¼tspChili powder
½tspOnion Powder
1tspItalian seasoning
1cCheddar cheese
½cParmesan cheese grated
2tbspButter melted
½tspGarlic powder
½tspItalian seasoning
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Roll the pizza dough onto a flat surface.
Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut a large triangle from the top of the rolled out pizza crust to the two bottom corners. Remove the two smaller triangles created on either side of the main triangle in the center, and push the edges of them together to form one large triangle just like the main one you cut out.
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, drained spinach, salt, pepper, onion salt, Italian seasoning, chili powder, ½ c of the cheddar cheese, and the parmesan cheese. Mix to combine well.
Place the main large triangle that you cut out onto a greased or lined baking sheet.
Spread the filling mixture evenly over the top of the triangle of dough on the baking sheet.
Top the filling with the other ½ cup of cheddar cheese.
Take the other pieced together triangle that you created, and layer it directly over top of the first triangle that has the filling spread on it. Use your fingers to spread the dough out so that the shape of this triangle matches the first one. If you have some extra dough at the bottom, cut it off gently, and you can form it into a small trunch for the tree.
Take a sharp knife, and cut strips on either side of the triangle “tree” about every inch or 2 down the sides. Do not cut the dough all of the way through, leave a thin strip in the center to keep everything connected.
Gently twist the cut ends on either side of the “tree”.
Bake your breadstick tree for 20 minutes, or until it is browned on top and cooked through.
Combine the 2 tablespoons of melted butter, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush the mixture over the top of the baked breadstick Christmas tree.
