Ingredients
4ozsemi-sweet chocolate
1/2tbspof canola oil
1poundof Strawberries
yellow candy hearts
candy eyes
Instructions
Start by rinsing your fresh strawberries. Make sure to leave the stems on the strawberries.
In a small bowl, you will add your chocolate in and melt. Do 30-second intervals until your chocolate is fully melted. Or you can use a double boiler if you prefer to melt chocolate.
Once your chocolate is fully melted, pour in your canola oil. This will help harden the chocolate to stick on the strawberries.
Now, you will dip your strawberries ¾ of the way at an angle into the chocolate mix making sure the tip is covered but leave an uncovered patch to form the bird's belly.
After you dip the bird shape of chocolate on the strawberries, you will place it on parchment paper.
While the chocolate is wet, you will place your eyes on so it sticks to the chocolate. You place at the tip of the section of the strawberries, like pictured.
Now you will insert the candy heart tips, to mimic the birds beak. Place it right under the eyes.
Once the chocolate has hardened up, you can serve these chocolate covered strawberry birds for all to enjoy.
