There's something about a deep dish pizza that just makes your mouth water. Maybe it's the thick crust, or the delicious toppings, but Chicago style deep dish pizza is always a hit. This recipe is easy to follow, and the results are delicious.
Ingredients
2tbspolive oil
1 - 1lbof pizza dough, thawed
1can of fire-roasted basil tomatoes
1small jar of pizza sauce
2 - 16ozbag of Mozzarella cheese
1Cgrated parmesan cheese
Pepperoni for topping
Fresh Basil and shredded parmesan cheese for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Using a 9in cast iron dish, brush the cast iron with olive oil
Unroll the pizza dough into the pan and up the sides of the pan
Using a small bowl, combine the pizza sauce and can of tomatoes
Spoon the tomatoes into the pizza dough
Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella cheese
Place a even layer of pepperoni on top of the cheese
Sprinkle with more cheese and fresh basil
Bake in the oven for 30 - 45 minutes or until the dough is a nice golden brown
