Ingredients
1lb.ground beef 80/20
1/2lb.ground mild Italian sausage
1yellow onion, finely chopped
1bell pepper, finely chopped
1tsp.olive oil
1tsp.Worcestershire sauce
1tbsp.minced garlic
1/2tsp.oregano
1/2tsp.basil
1/2tsp.parsley
2eggs, beaten
½cupItalian bread crumbs
½cuppanko
1T.milk
1cupshredded mozzarella cheese
3/4cupof shredded mozzarella, for topping
1/4cupparmesan cheese
Instructions
In a small skillet, over med-high heat, add your olive oil, onion, and bell pepper saute for 3-4 minutes.
Stir often until onions are translucent.
Set to the side to cool.
In a large bowl, add the beef, sausage, onion mixture, seasonings, eggs, milk, cheese, bread crumbs, panko, and Worcestershire sauce.
Mix to combine using your hands.
Spray your loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Place the meatloaf mixture into a loaf pan, press to evenly distribute the meatloaf mixture.
Place in a 400-degree oven for 50 minutes.
Remove from the oven and top with the remaining cheese and sprinkle a little dry basil over the top.
