Whiskey Walnut Blondies are a brown butter blondies recipe that is loaded with rich flavor. Jameson whiskey, crunchy walnuts, in a brown butter brownie blondie.
Ingredients
1stick unsalted butter
1Cpacked dark brown sugar
1egg
1/2TSPsalt
1TSPvanilla extract
2TBSPJameson whiskey
1Call purpose flour
1/2Croughly chopped walnuts
Glaze Ingredients:
1/4Cunsalted butter, softened
1/2Cbrown sugar
2TBSPmilk
3/4Cpowdered sugar
1/4Cchopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
Brown your butter by melting it over medium heat on the stove and stir until it becomes a golden caramel color.
Might take some time just continue stirring the butter while it browns. Don't stop stirring or it can burn the butter mixture.
Pour the browned butter into the bowl of kitchen aid and add the brown sugar.
Beat for about four minutes, until creamy. It sounds like a long time but it will really help add texture and flavor to the blondies.
Add the egg and beat again.
Then, add the flour, salt, whiskey, and vanilla extract. Beat until combined.
Fold in the chopped walnuts. Mix with a spatula.
Spread out the mixture in your lined pan and bake for 25 minutes, or until edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pan.
Once whiskey blondies are done, you can set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
Begin your glaze, in a small pot bring the butter, brown sugar, and milk to a boil.
Once boiling, remove from heat and whisk in the powdered sugar. Pour on top of the blondies until completely covered.
Sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top, set aside to cool completely.
