Ingredients
Steak:
1 1/2lbsground beef, or cube beef tenderloins
1/2cupItalian breadcrumbs
2large Eggs, room temp
1Tbsp.Worcestershire sauce
1tsponion powder
1tspgarlic salt
2tspmustard powder
1/4tspkosher salt
¼tsp.Ground pepper
3tbspcooking oil
Mushroom Gravy:
3tbspunsalted butter
8ozmushrooms, sliced
1large onion, sliced
1Tbsp.minced garlic
1tsp.Italian seasonings
1/2cupflour
3cupbeef broth
kosher salt
black pepper
Instructions
If using ground beef, add the steak ingredients in a large bowl, mix to combine.
Make the ground beef into 4 individual oval patties
In a large pan add the oil, and heat over medium-high heat.
When the oil is hot, add the beef patties to the skillet.
Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
Remove the patties and set to the side.
In the same skillet with the juices, add the mushrooms and onion and cook over medium-high heat for about 10 minutes.
Cook the onion mushroom mixture until a golden brown.
Add the flour into the skillet with the mushrooms onions, and stir until there are no more lumps of flour.
Gradually add the beef stock to the mushroom mixture, whisk until combined.
Raise the stovetop temperature to high heat, whisk to incorporate.
Once the gravy begins to boil, reduce the heat to low.
Allow the gravy to simmer for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Place the Salisbury steak patties back in the pan with the gravy and cook for about 5 to 10 minute.
