This recipe has been around for many generations. When times were tough, this is a dessert that did not require ingredients that were too expensive to afford for those times.
Ingredients
1 ½lbGranny Smith Apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1tablespoonBrown Sugar
2cupsWhite Sugar
1cupAll-Purpose Flour
1teaspoonGround Cinnamon
¾cupmelted butter
1large Egg
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
In a large mixing bowl, add the apples and 1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar. Toss until well coated and arrange them evenly onto a pie plate.
Grab another medium mixing bowl and add in flour, egg, butter, cinnamon, and 1 cup of White Sugar. Whisk until all ingredients are combined.
Spread your mixture over your apples. Making sure all pieces of the apples are covered.
Place pie plate into the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top of it turns golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool to room temperature
