What’s better than chocolate, coconut, brownies, or cookies? How about German Chocolate Brownie Cookies. Dessert gets a whole lot better when sweet worlds collide. This recipe is bringing together several of your favorite desserts all into one sweet treat that will leave you begging for, “Just one more, please.”
Ingredients
For the cookies:
8ozChocolate Chips
2tbspButter
2Large Eggs
1tspVanilla
½cupSugar, Granulated
½cupAll Purpose Flour
¼tspBaking Powder
For the topping:
1cupEvaporated Milk
8tbspButter
2Egg Yolks
1cupsugar, Granulated
1tspVanilla
1cupPecans, Chopped
1cupCoconut, Shredded
5ozChocolate for Drizzle, Melted
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a microwave safe bowl, combine the 2 tbsp butter and the 8 oz chocolate chips. Heat the mixture at 30 second intervals until completely melted and smooth.
Let the chocolate cool a bit.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1 tsp vanilla and ½ cup of sugar.
Add the chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, and whisk to combine.
In a mixing bowl, place the flour and baking powder.
Mix the chocolate mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until completely combined.
Drop the batter by the teaspoonful onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the egg yolks, 8 tbsp butter, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup of evaporated milk. Simmer until the mixture thickens well.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla, pecans and coconut.
Spoon some of the topping onto each cookie and let set.
Drizzle he melted chocolate over the cookies, chill for 15 minutes and serve.
