Ingredients
For the cookies:
1 C. Butter softened
¼ C. Granulated sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
2 C.All purpose flour
½tsp.Salt
Sprinkles
For the icing:
2 Tbsp.Milk
1 ¼ C. Confectioners sugar
Food coloring
Instructions
Mix the flour and salt together in a bowl.
In another mixing bowl, combine the butter sugar and vanilla, and beat until fluffy.
Add the flour mixture into the mixing bowl, and blend until a thick dough forms.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for an hour.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
Roll the dough into 4 dozen balls.
Press the balls of dough into the sprinkles.
Using your thumb or another utensil, push down on the center of each cookie ball to form an indentation in the middle.
Bake for 10 minutes, remove from the oven, press the indentation into the center of each cookie again, and continue baking for another 8-10 minutes.
Let the cookies cool to room temperature.
Mix together the ingredients for the icing, using the food coloring of your choice, and pipe the icing into the center of each cookie. Let sit overnight before serving.
