If you're looking for an easy weeknight meal that the whole family will love, you've got to try this cajun shrimp pasta with sausage. It's loaded with flavor and comes together in just 45 minutes!
Ingredients
½lb.Shrimp peeled and deveined
½lb.Andouille sausage sliced into pieces
1Tbsp.Cajun seasoning
Olive oil
½Onion sliced thin
½Red bell pepper sliced thin
1tsp.Paprika
1tsp.Thyme
1Tbsp.Cajun seasoning
1tsp.Brown sugar
2tsp.Minced garlic
½C.Crushed tomatoes
¾C.Chicken broth
1tsp.Worcestershire sauce
¾C.Heavy whipping cream
12oz.Bow tie pasta
Salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan and chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Cook the pasta to your liking and drain.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove.
Add the shrimp and 1 Tbsp. cajun seasoning, and saute until the shrimp are cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Add the sausage to the same skillet and saute until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
Reduce the heat to medium on the stove, and add some more olive oil to the skillet along with the onions and peppers. Saute until the vegetables become tender.
Mix in the garlic and saute another 30 seconds.
Stir in the paprika, thyme, 1 tbsp. Cajun seasoning, brown sugar, crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, heavy whipping cream, and salt and pepper to taste. Saute until the sauce thickens.
Add the shrimp, sausage, and cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine well.
Serve garnished with fresh chopped parsley and parmesan cheese.
