You can’t go wrong with Honey Sriracha Turkey Meatballs, these meatballs combine the sweetness of honey with the heat of sriracha to create a sweet turkey meatball that’s balanced by a spicy kick.
Ingredients
2Tbsp.Olive oil
1lb.Ground turkey
1Small onion chopped
1Stalk of celery chopped
1Jalapeno deseeded and chopped
3tsp.Minced garlic
1Tbsp.Cajun seasoning
2Tbsp.Freshly chopped parsley
1Tbsp.Red chili pepper flakes
1Large egg
1C.Panko bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
1C.Sriracha sauce
2Tbsp.Honey
1tsp.Garlic powder
1tsp.Chili flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat on the stove.
Add the onion, celery and jalapeno to the skillet and saute until tender.
Mix in the garlic and saute another 30 seconds. Remove and let cool.
Add the cooled vegetables to a large mixing bowl with the ground turkey, cajun seasoning, 1 Tbsp chili flakes, chopped parsley, large egg, panko crumbs and salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine.
Form the meat mixture into 20 meatballs.
Heat the remaining oil in a skillet over medium high heat and brown the meatballs evenly on all sides.
Add the browned meatballs to a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, combine the ingredients for the sauce in a pot over medium heat on the stove. Saute for 5 minutes.
Toss the meatballs in the sauce once cooked through and serve.
