This Honey Sesame Chicken recipe is a delicious combination of sweet and savory flavors, the chicken is marinated in a sweet and tangy honey-soy sauce, and then tossed with crunchy sesame seeds to give it a nutty flavor.
Ingredients
1 ½lb.Boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into pieces
2Tbsp.Olive oil
2tsp.Minced garlic
For the batter:
⅔C.All purpose flour
1Egg white
½tsp.Baking powder
¼C.Cornstarch
½C.Ice water
Salt to taste
For the sauce:
1tsp.Sesame oil
½C.Water
⅓C.Honey
1tsp.Apple cider vinegar
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Mix together the ingredients for the batter until well combined.
Heat a few inches of oil in a deep sided skillet until it reaches 350 degrees.
Dip the chicken into the batter and place into the oil. Fry until cooked through, crispy and starting to brown lightly. Remove and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
Once all of the chicken has been fried, add 2 tbsp of olive oil to a skillet over medium high heat.
Add the garlic to the skillet and saute for 30 seconds.
Place the chicken into the skillet.
Mix the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and pour over the chicken.
Saute the chicken until the sauce thickens and the chicken is browned.
