Ingredients
1PacketFrench onion soup mix
3Tbsp.Olive oil
1 ½Tbsp.Worcestershire sauce
2Tbsp.Cubed beef chuck , or stew meat
⅓C.Water
1Onion , sliced
2Tbsp.Cornstarch
3C.Beef stock
1Bay leaf
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat.
Stir in half the meat and onions, brown evenly, and cook until the onions are becoming soft.
Remove, and repeat step 2 with the remaining meat and onions.
Add all of the meat and onions into the pot.
Pour in the broth, onion soup mix, bay leaf, worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper to taste.
Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer for 1 ½ hours.
Blend together the cornstarch and water, add to the pot, and cook until the gravy has thickened.
