1cuplong-grain white rice
1teaspoonfresh minced garlic
1teaspoononion powder or dried minced onion
1teaspoonground turmeric
2cupschicken broth
1/2teaspoonKosher salt or to taste
ground black pepper to taste
2-3tablespoonsfresh cilantro chopped
Instructions
Add the butter to a skillet over medium heat to melt. Add the uncooked rice and cook for several minutes until the rice has turned golden brown.
Add the garlic, onion powder, and turmeric to the rice, stir to combine and cook for at least 1 minute to toast the spices.
Add the chicken broth to the pan and bring to a rapid simmer. Add salt and pepper, reduce the heat and cover with a lid. Let the rice steam for at least 25 minutes until tender.
