What’s better than a plate of nachos or fresh hot French fries? The marriage of the two. Taking steak and potatoes to a different level, Carne Asada fries will satisfy several cravings. Of course, Carne Asada (marinated beef sliced thinly and grilled) is the centerpiece of this meal. However, the crispy crinkle-cut fries replace tortilla chips in this tasty recipe.
Ingredients
1bag of crinkle french fries
CARNE ASADA
1teaspoonsalt
½teaspoonpepper
1teaspoonchili powder
½teaspoondried oregano
2clovesgarlic, minced
2tablespoonsfresh cilantro, minced
½cupfresh orange juice
¼cupfresh lime juice
½lbflank steak
1tablespooncanola oil
½cupshredded Pepper Jack cheese
Toppings:
Pico Di Gallo
sour cream
guacamole
fresh cilantro leaf
Instructions
Follow the cooking directions on the back of the Frozen Crinkle Fry bag
In a medium bowl, combine the salt, pepper, chili powder, oregano, garlic, cilantro, orange juice, and lime juice. Add the flank steak and marinate for 20 minutes.
Heat a cast-iron skillet with the canola oil over medium heat.
Cook the steak for 3 minutes on both sides for medium-cooked steak.
Remove the steak and let it rest for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes dice the steak.
Using a castiron skillet, place the baked french fries, Mexican shredded cheese, and diced carne asada, then broil until the cheese is melted.
Before serving, top with sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, cilantro
