Red Velvet Cake Balls are the perfect gift for your sweetie this Valentines Day. Red Velvet cake is crumbled, mixed with a cream cheese frosting, rolled into balls and dipped in chocolate.
I can’t even remember the last time I baked a cake from a boxed mix, but a boxed mix is perfect for this recipe. This is the first time I have ever made cake balls, in fact, I had only heard of them a few months ago! I know, where have I been?! These bite sized morsels are the perfect treat for parties or home baked gifts.
From the first bite of these delicious cake balls, you will be hooked! I can’t wait to try more of the multitude of cake ball flavors out there! 🙂

Red Velvet Cake Balls
Ingredients
- 1 18.25 ounce red velvet cake mix
- 1 16 ounce container cream cheese frosting
- 1 16 ounce package chocolate bark

Instructions
- Prepare the cake mix in a 9 X 13 baking pan according to the directions on the box. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Crumble the cake into a large bowl. Add the frosting and mix until well combined.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper. Roll a heaping tablespoon of dough into a 1½-inch ball and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Place in refrigerator until firm, several hours.
- Melt chocolate in microwave per directions on package.
- Working about 4 balls at a time, dip balls in chocolate using a spoon or a dipping fork and place on prepared baking sheet. Keep the undipped balls in the refrigerator until ready to dip.
- Once you have covered all the balls in chocolate, place in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating is set. If desired, drizzle chocolate on the balls for decoration.
