About this Recipe
Butterfinger cake is a simple chocolate poke cake recipe that is topped with soft caramel, whipped topping and crushed Butterfinger candy bars. Butterfingers are a popular candy bar with a crispy crunchy peanut butter center and a smooth milk chocolate outer layer. Every ingredient of this easy poke cake is designed to compliment the crunchy peanut sweet butterfinger from the rich moist chocolate cake to the creamy caramel topping.
What is a poke cake?
Poke cake is a popular method for making any homemade or store bought cake one to remember. After the cake is baked and while it is still hot, the round handle of a wooden spoon is used to make several holes in the cake spaced about 1 inch apart.
A sweet custard, condensed milk, or pudding is then spread over the cake and into each of the holes before the cake is allowed to cool. This lets the sweet rich custard soak into the cake making every bit moist, soft, and sweet.
