Drunken Bourbon Bread Pudding

Old fashioned bread pudding with vanilla sauce is an easy and simple homestead recipe to use up eggs, milk 🙂
Pro tip: you can leave the raisins out!
Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 1-hour | Servings: 8
Ingredients:
1 large loaf of French bread
4 C. Milk
2 tsp. Vanilla extract
3 large eggs
2 C. Granulated sugar
½ C. Golden raisins
½ tsp. Cinnamon
For the sauce:
8 Tbsp. Butter unsalted
1 C. Granulated sugar
1 large egg beaten
3 Tbsp. Bourbon
How to make Drunken Bourbon Bread Pudding:
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and grease a 9×9 baking dish well.
Step 2. Tear the French bread into pieces and layer it in the baking dish.
Step 3. Pour the milk over the bread, and allow it to sit for an hour.
Step 4. Whisk together the egg, vanilla and 2 cups of sugar.

Step 5. Stir the cinnamon and raisins into the egg mixture, and pour it over the bread in the baking dish. Stir slightly to combine.

Step 6. Bake for 1 hour.
Step 7. Let the bread pudding cool.
Step 8. Combine the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan over low heat on the stove. Continue to cook the sauce mixture until the sugar is completely melted.

Step 9. Slice the bread pudding, cover in sauce, and serve.
