Why We Love Honey Garlic Salmon?

Dinner in twenty? That’s my kinda cooking right there! You all know it by now. I come across an easy, tasty recipe, and I’m all in.

Plus, salmon is one of my favorite protein sources. It cooks quickly. And it is a healthy way to get some omega 3’s into my family’s diet.

The best part? I can spice it up, keep it low with just salt and pepper, or add some lemon juice for a pop of tartness. That’s why this honey garlic salmon recipe is a keeper! Oh, and you’d want to glaze every meal with this finger-licking good honey garlic glaze! It’s just that good.

How to Get the Most Tender Salmon?

The best salmon has a can’t-say-no-to crispy outer layer and super moist flesh. And you get this divine combo by searing your fish in a hot pan! Like a really hot pan! The heat and speedy cooking will lock the moisture into the fish.

I leave the skin on for the added texture and flavor. It’s no-questions-asked my favorite way of cooking the sea’s finest, and it’s so easy too.

How Can I Tell My Salmon is Done Cooking?

If you have a meat thermometer, place it in the thickest part of your fish. FDA says 145 degrees is the safest, but I like keeping mine between 130-135 degrees. It gives me a juicy and tender salmon! If you don’t have the thermometer, check the color. It shouldn’t be pink, and it should flake easily.

What to Serve with Honey-Glazed Garlic Salmon?

This salmon pairs well with all kinds of side dishes. My family enjoys a simple side salad, sautéed vegetables, or roasted potatoes. Sometimes we also do garlic rice. My trick is to keep the sides low-key because I want the salmon to shine through.

Can I Store the Leftovers?

Of course, you can! It will last 3-4 days in the fridge. But pack it up properly! Place the fillets in an airtight container and enjoy the next day as if you just cooked it. You don’t want a soggy piece of salmon, right?

How to Reheat Honey Garlic Salmon?

My favorite way of reheating this salmon is in the oven. Put it on a pan lined with parchment paper and bake it at 350 degrees for 7-10 minutes. Make sure to check every few minutes, so you don’t end up with a dry and rubbery piece of fish. You can also do it over the skillet. Just keep the heat on low and melt the glaze over the fish.

Tips and Tricks

  • Pick the best salmon out there. I like wild-caught salmon for its superior taste.
  • If you’re using frozen salmon, thaw it and pat dry all the moisture. It’ll give it a nice crispy crust.
  • Don’t flip the salmon if it’s sticking. It needs more time.
  • Don’t be afraid to adjust the seasonings to suit your taste! I like a little kick and a bit of heat, so sometimes I add extra peppers or chili flakes.
