Can You Make Them Ahead?
You can prepare the meatballs ahead of time if you want and even cook them and then prepare the sauce and finish them off later. The egg noodles are best served as soon as they’re cooked, so they don’t become gummy.
Storage Instructions:
Leftovers can be refrigerated and gently reheated. It’s best to eat them within 3 days.
Variations and Substitutions:
Ground chicken or turkey, or a combination of ground beef with pork or veal would also work to make these Swedish meatballs. You can sub a mixture of milk and sour cream for the milk, or else use light cream instead.
