Walking Taco Bake

This Walking Taco Bake is so good, so handy and so easy to make. It is quite similar to a Taco Casserole, with the difference being that you can take it anywhere you go.

This is so similar to a Taco Casserole, why is it called a Walking Taco?
It is meant as a play on words. You can take it on the go and eat it so you don’t miss out on a great meal.
Variations
You could use a different meat. Change the cheese to Pepper Jack, and add more seasoning to it. Or you could add beans and make it more filling.

- Taco Seasoning
- Water
- Chili Cheese Fritos
- Campbell’s Cheddar Cheese Soup
- Whole Milk
- Mozzarella Cheese
How to Make Walking Taco Bake?
Step 1: In a large pot, melt some butter and add ground beef. Stir occasionally until all meat is browned. Always drain excess grease from cooked Ground Beef.
Step 2: Add water and taco seasoning. Stir to combine.
Step 3: Simmer on low heat for around 5 minutes or until the liquid gets absorbed into the meat.
Step 4: In an 8×8 baking dish, layer your Chili Cheese Fritos on the bottom in an even layer.
Step 5: Top with your seasoned meat.
Step 6: In a saucepan, heat the cheddar cheese soup and milk together over low heat.
Step 7: Once the soup mix is warm, pour over top of the meat.
Step 8: Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the cheese and place it in your preheated oven, at 350 degrees. Cook for 12-14 minutes.
Step 9: Remove from the oven, scoop onto a plate, and enjoy!

Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 package Taco Seasoning, We prefer Taco Bell Seasoning but you can use any packets available at your local grocery stores.
- ⅔ Cup Water
- 1 Large bag Chili Cheese Fritos, You can use plain Fritos as well
- ½ Can Campbell’s Cheddar Cheese Soup
- ¼ Cup Whole Milk
- 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded (You always want to use shredded cheese with any taco meal so it melts quickly)

This dish would need to cool to room temperature first. Then you can transfer it to an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator. You can store it for 4 days.

You can certainly store the Walking Taco Bake in the freezer for up to 3 months as long as it is covered tightly. Be sure the food has cooled completely before placing it in the freezer.
