Walking Taco Bake

Tacos are one of the most popular dishes because it is so easy to eat and the combinations are endless. A Walking Taco Bake is similar to a taco casserole and simply means you can take it anywhere with you. A perfect dish if you are entertaining guests and bursting with flavor. Layers of flavors and texture make for a perfect Taco night meal or to bring to a get-together. Who doesn’t love Tacos?

What other types of meat can you use?

Instead of using ground beef, you can always change it out for ground turkey for a more gamey taste or shredded chicken. Shredded chicken works so well with all the other ingredients as it is another main meat used in tacos. We have also seen shrimp or blackened salmon added. Just research cooking tips if you use any type of seafood as it cooks a lot faster than beef, chicken, or turkey.

Can you give me tips for sides that can complement the flavors?

As we have mentioned previously, tacos are endless. Some of the sides we recommended are refried or black beans. You can pour these right on top to bake everything together or serve them on the side. If you want a cool and creamy topping, you can add fresh Avocado or pre-made guacamole. This can be dolloped on top or served on the side. Do not bake it together as the avocado is fragile and will turn brown once it heats up.
