Pecan Pie fudge

This Pecan Pie Fudge is an easy microwave fudge recipe that tastes just like pecan pie! It’s one of the best easy fudge recipes and perfect for holiday platters and gift-giving or just enjoying at any point during the year.

Fudge has always been an indulgent dessert in my mind. Rich and creamy and decadent, I’ve always thought that delicious fudge was difficult to make.

It turns out, that’s not true. Did you know you can make microwave fudge? As in, make an entire batch of fudge in the microwave with just a few ingredients? You can! I didn’t believe it at first but easy fudge recipes do exist and they often only require a few ingredients.

Pecan Pie fudge

That revelation led to a lot of experimenting on my part, which brings us to this Pecan Pie Fudge, a delicious fudge with white chocolate.

This Pecan Pie Fudge is one of my new favorite easy fudge recipes. It’s not a 100% microwave fudge because it does include a pie crust that needs to be baked but you can prepare the rest of the ingredients in the microwave while the pie crust is baking.

Pecan Pie fudge

One important thing to note while making this recipe is that you should prepare all ingredients with the pie crust is cooking and pour the fudge mixture over the pie crust while both are still hot. Waiting until the pie crust cools may result in the fudge not completely sticking to the crust.

Why I love Pecan Pie fudge?

  • Easy to make and super delicious
  • Great recipe for pie lovers and fudge lovers alike
  • A fun take on a traditional pecan pie that is sure to make a splash at your next dinner

What are common pecan pie mistakes?

One of the biggest mistakes that people make with a pecan pie is that they are either undercooking it or overcooking it. Both are terrible things to do to your pie and can make a huge difference in the finished product. Under baking leads to a soggy crust and a loose filling that cannot be sliced. Over baking leads to a cracked filling that is dry and unappealing. You also have to consider that allowing the pie to cool too quickly can lead to a cracked pie.

Why is maple extract used in pecan pie?

Maple extract or maple syrup can be used in place of Karo syrup in your pie. It gives the pie depth, helps the pie to gel, and gives it that fantastic sweet flavor that we all know and love when it comes to pecan pie.

What can I use instead of evaporated milk?

When you do not have evaporated milk for the fudge part of the pie, you can use a few different things as a substitute. You can use regular milk, either 2% or skim, you can use heavy cream, half-and-half, powdered milk that has been reconstituted, coconut milk, or non-dairy milk. Evaporated milk is just concentrated, so you can really use any sort of milk as a substitute if you do not have the right amount.

How to serve Pecan Pie fudge?

Since you do have a fudgy layer on top of the pecans, you want to serve this dish chilled. This is going to ensure that the fudge stays intact and that you are going to be able to transport it or serve it. You can warm it up if you want, but this might make the fudge looser. This is a fudge that is going to taste like a pecan pie and that is going to be truly delicious.

Pecan Pie Fudge Cooking Tips:

Since the pie crust is going to be the base of your dish, you want to make sure that it is cooked properly. A crust that is not cooked fully is going to be gummy and hard to chew. Make sure you cook it correctly and that you are letting each layer of the fudge set up before serving.

Variations of Pecan Pie fudge:

To change up the flavor of your pecan pie fudge you can do things like add different nuts and different flavoring, and you can even add things like raisins, dried fruit, and more.
