Turkey Wings

Not only is it very easy to make, but this turkey wings recipe also reminds me of Thanksgiving, because of the smell of the poultry seasoning.

Why I love Turkey Wings?

I love turkey wings because they remind me of when I was a kid and my mom would cook them twice a month. She cooked them to perfection, and the recipe she used was very similar to this one, except we added barbecue sauce to ours.

Turkey Wings

Are turkey wings better than chicken wings?

This is a matter of personal preference. Some people dislike turkey wings merely because of their immense size in comparison to chicken, while others prefer turkey wings to chicken.

How to cook turkey wings?

There are many different ways to cook turkey wings, and it all depends on the recipe you’re following or your personal preference. Turkey wings can be cooked in an air fryer, on the grill, in the oven, or even in a skillet, on the stove.

At what temperature do you cook turkey wings?

For this particular recipe, the temperature should be set at 375°. However, if you’re cooking turkey wings on your own, anywhere from 350-400° is acceptable.

Do you wash turkey wings before cooking?

It has always been recommended that you wash turkey wings or any other poultry before cooking, but modern cooks simply start cooking instead of possibly splashing potentially harmful bacteria on items in the kitchen. So, it’s up to you whether you would like to wash them before cooking them or not.

How to serve Turkey Wings?

You can serve turkey wings with countless sides. If I’m in the mood for a Thanksgiving-like meal, I’ll serve this recipe with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Other times, I’ll serve it with various veggies on the side, potato salad, dirty rice, and the list goes on and on.

Cooking Tips:

Ensure the wings aren’t over or undercooked. A kitchen thermometer might be helpful if you’re a new cook because you need to ensure the temperature in the three thickest parts of the wings is at 165°. Anything less than that can make you sick, while too hot could mean dried-out meat.

Wash your hands before and after making the recipe. You don’t want to introduce dirt and bacteria to the recipe, nor do you want raw poultry juices contaminating your kitchen.

Variations:

The sky is the limit when it comes to variations for your turkey wings recipe. If you like spicy foods, then you can add in some Cajun seasonings, cayenne pepper, or some other spicy seasoning mix. Some other variations might include adding barbecue sauce, substituting the poultry seasoning for sage, or some other variation that you can come up with.

How to store Turkey Wings?

It’s easy to store any leftover turkey wings, and if you have an airtight container to place them in before refrigerating (or freezing) them, then that’s perfect. You can also wrap them in aluminum foil and then in a freezer bag before freezing them.

How to reheat Turkey Wings?

It’s easy to reheat turkey wings, and all you must do is place them in a pan, in the oven, and reheat until the internal temperature is 130 degrees Fahrenheit. The oven should be preheated to 285, and the length of time will depend on whether the baked turkey wings were frozen or not.

How long does Turkey Wings last in the fridge?

You don’t want to leave leftover turkey wings in the fridge for too long, because not only will they lose their flavor, but they will also start to go bad. You should keep them refrigerated for three to four days max, or freeze them instead.

Can I make Turkey Wings ahead of time?

If it’s more convenient for you to make turkey wings ahead of time, that is perfectly all right, as they’re easy to reheat without compromising taste.
