Why I love White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
- Super easy to make
- Can be prepped in advance
- A subtle yet delicious medley of flavors
- Perfect as a sweet treat any time of the day
Why is white chocolate paired with macadamia nuts
The reason why you’ll find white chocolate often paired with macadamia nuts is the fact that both these ingredients have very subtle, delicate flavors which go well together.
When used in a cookie, they transform a simple sugar cookie to an elegant and delightful sweet treat.
What is the secret to making cookies soft?
There are quite a few ways you can make your cookies even more soft. One good tip you can implement is to bake the cookies quickly in a hot oven as opposed to leaving them in the oven for a longer time and at a lower temperature.
Another good idea is to use one egg and one egg yolk instead of the two whole eggs that the recipe calls for.
Is it better to bake cookies with butter or oil?
It is always best to use butter while preparing cookie dough. While using oil will make the cookies softer, it will also cause the cookies to turn out flat.
Cookies made with butter, however, will hold their shape, and tick all the boxes when it comes to flavor and aesthetic appeal.
How to serve White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies
You can serve these white chocolate macadamia nut cookies while they’re still warm, or at room temperature with some coffee, or even just as a dessert or a snack.
Tips:
- An important tip to take note of to make sure that these cookies have the perfect shape, and don’t end up getting flat, is to make sure the butter is soft, but not to the point where it has melted.
- As an extra measure, you can also consider chilling the cookie dough for a while before you scoop it out and bake it.
- If you like your cookies to be even more soft and melt-in-the-mouth delicious, you can also consider adding a teaspoon of cornstarch to the mixture.
Variations:
While this classic recipe is great in more ways than one, you can also try some of these little tweaks to bring in a bit of variation to these cookies.
- To lend these delicious cookies some extra flavor and crunchiness, you can choose to use lightly toasted macadamia nuts instead of regular ones.
- To enhance the flavor of these cookies, you may also want to sprinkle a bit of flaky sea salt on them right after they’re out of the oven, still a bit warm.
