Truffle Peanut Butter Brownies Recipe
What makes this a Peanut Butter Truffle Brownie?
Truffles are special chocolate candy that is traditionally made with a chocolate ganache center and then chocolate outside. In this, the center is made from a peanut butter filling and the outsides of the brownies, the brownie bottom and ganache top, is the outside chocolate coating. While this is not a traditional truffle, it is delicious enough to be called a truffle brownie.
How do I Make Layered Brownies?
To make layered brownies, you will want to make the brownie batter and then bake it. Once it has cooled, you add the next layer on top. Then you add the next layer on that. So in this case, you will make the brownie batter and then bake it. Once it has cooled, you will add the peanut butter filling layer on top. Once the filling is set, you will add the chocolate ganache on top of that. The brownies need to be set into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.
How To Store these Truffle Peanut Butter Brownies
After these brownies have set, you can remove them from the refrigerator. The brownies can be stored at room temperature or it can be kept in the refrigerator. The brownies will last about 5 days.
Can these Brownies be Frozen
If you want to freeze these brownies you can. You will want to make sure to separate the layers of brownies by wax paper or parchment paper. This will keep the brownies from sticking to each other when you are ready to move them from the freezer. The brownies can last in the freezer for about 3 months. When you want to take the brownies out of the freezer, you are able to take as many or as few as you want. Be sure to unwrap the brownies when you are ready to thaw them so the ganache does not come off with the wrapping.

(This will make it easy to remove the bars from the pan after they have baked.) Butter the parchment.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and add the sugar; stir to combine. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Mix in cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add flour and stir until just combined and no streaks of dry ingredients remain. Pour into prepared pan and spread into an even layer. Bake for bake 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely in pan on a cooling rack.
While the brownies are cooling, make the peanut butter filling. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the ingredients and beat until smooth. Add more milk if necessary to make it spreadable. Spread in an even layer over the brownies. Place in the refrigerator until filling is set, about 30 minutes.
While the filling is setting, make the ganache, combine the ingredients in a double boiler or in a microwave safe bowl. Melt together and combine. Pour the ganache over the top and spread gently. Return to the fridge until set.
