Why do I love Bacon Mushroom Smothered Pork Chops?
I love Bacon Mushroom Smothered Pork Chops because all the ingredients come together perfectly to create a delicious, mouthwatering alternative to boring old plain pork chops. Bacon Mushroom Smothered pork chops are also pretty quick and easy to make, so I don’t feel like I’m in the kitchen forever when making them.
Why are my smothered pork chops tough?
There are a couple of reasons why your smothered pork chops might be tough. However, the most common reason for smothered pork chops becoming tough is that they were overcooked. If you’re certain you haven’t overcooked them, then perhaps you cooked them before seasoning them, as seasoning them beforehand helps to tenderize them.
Is it better to bake or pan-fry pork chops?
Both baking and pan-frying pork chops are great ways to cook your pork chops. The key to perfectly cooked pork chops, regardless of the cooking method, is to be mindful of cooking time.
How to serve Bacon Mushroom Smothered Pork Chops?
You can serve bacon mushroom-smothered pork chops with many different sides. I like serving mine with mashed potatoes or rice because the gravy goes perfectly with these starches. I also like to add a side of steamed broccoli or a side salad, which makes any meal perfect, in my opinion.
Tips:
Never overcook your pork chops; using a food thermometer can ensure that you remove your chops from the heat as soon as they reach 145 degrees (not 160 degrees). This increases your chances of ending up with delectably tender pork chops.
Also, you might want to serve the pork chops with some sort of bread, as it can be used to “sop up” the delicious gravy.
Variations:
The sky is the limit when it comes to variations of bacon mushroom-smothered pork chops. For instance, if you don’t like mushrooms, you can substitute cream of mushroom pork chops for the cream of celery or a similar cream-based soup. Also, you can use different cuts of pork rather than just chops.
