Tips for Air Fryer Green Beans
- Opt for fresh beans whenever possible for the crunchiest and best tasting air fryer green beans. Frozen green beans may be used if necessary but avoid using canned green beans.
- Before seasoning make sure the green beans are properly washed and you have removed the tough tip and tail of each one.
- The green beans are done once they are crispy and tender but not mushy. The outside will look slightly wrinkled but they should be bright green.
- If your green beans are still soggy try cooking them for a bit longer or at a higher temperature.
- This recipe can be made without an air fryer in a convection oven at a higher temperature and a longer cook time.
What to Serve With Green Beans
Roasted green beans are a healthy and nutritious low carb vegetable with a nutty flavour to them. This means they pair well with grilled meats like chicken, fish, burgers and steak, as well as roasts, soups, meatloaf, and pasta.
Leftovers and Reheating
Let leftover air fryer green beans cool to room temperature before sealing in an airtight container for storage. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
To reheat leftover green beans, use the oven or a preheated air fryer until the beans are warmed through and crispy.
Because these green beans are fully cooked it is not recommended to freeze them as they will get mushy once thawed.
