Why is this the recipe that I will want to use?
This recipe is so easy to make you will be astonished. Not only is it really easy, but it is also a great-tasting dessert or treats! There are numerous variations you could use.
Variations:
You could use canned pie filling, just to make it a little bit easier. You can switch up the flavor and use Cherry or Blueberry or Strawberry.
Ingredients:
- Tortillas
- Apples
- Brown sugar
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Water
- Cornstarch
- Oil for frying the tortillas
- Whipped cream for garnish
For the cinnamon-sugar mixture:
- Granulated sugar
- Cinnamon
How to make Apple Pie Tacos:
Step 1. Place the apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water into a skillet over medium heat on the stove.
Adding the water.
Adding the brown sugar.
Adding the cinnamon.
Adding the nutmeg.
Step 2. Cook the mixture down until the sugar has melted and the apples are beginning to soften.
Step 3. Add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet and cook until the sauce has thickened. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Step 4. Heat the oil in a deep-sided skillet or saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat.
Step 5. Holding the tortillas folded in half, place one half of the tortilla in the oil to fry and then flip to fry the other side as well, forming a hard taco shell shape.
Step 6. Sprinkle the taco with the cinnamon-sugar mixture on the outside.
Step 7. Fill the fried taco shells with the apple mixture, top with whipped cream, and serve.

Ingredients
- 6 ” Flour tortillas
- 2 large Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced
- ⅓ C. Brown sugar
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp. Nutmeg
- ¼ C. Water
- 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch dissolved in 2 Tbsp. water
- Oil for frying the tortillas
- Whipped cream for garnish

Instructions

How do I store the Apple Pie Tacos?
Place them into a container that is airtight, yet large enough so they can be stood on the side, this way the filling does not fall out. Place them in the refrigerator and you can store them for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. These Apple Pie Tacos can also sit on the counter for 3 days, as long as they are covered.
Can I freeze the Apple Pie Tacos?
You can freeze the Apple Pie tacos, but there could be a slight texture difference in the apples when the dessert thaws. If you do freeze them, they can be stored for 2 months.

The best method to reheat these Apple Pie Tacos is to place them in a baking dish standing upright so the filling stays put. Place in a preheated 350* oven for 5 minutes. You could also use the microwave and reheat for 1 to 2 minutes.
