Why I love Chicken Nachos?
- Great way to use up leftover chicken.
- Quick and easy to make.
- Bakes in the oven for hands off cooking.
- Load it up or keep it simple. You can pick whatever you want.
- Family-friendly meal.
- Budget friendly.
Why won’t my shredded cheese melt?
Shredded cheese will melt. It is just you will find that pre-shredded cheese has more oil and starches so it will have a different texture than shredded off the block. You can use either for the nacho recipe.
Do you put cheese on first or last for nachos?
You can pile the cheese on when you would like. As you see in this recipe I created layers of ingredients so each bite you get a mix of all the ingredients. Feel free to try out where you like it.
What is the secret to crispy nachos?
Serve your nachos up right away. If you allow your nachos to sit they will get soggy pretty fast. The reason is all the toppings are going to soak up in the chips as it breaks down.

Placing your nachos in the oven is going to allow the cheese to melt. If you are worried it won’t melt then add your cheese last so they are on top of the rest of the fixings. It will then melt quicker.

How to store Chicken Nachos?
If you have leftovers simply store in an airtight container in the fridge. You will find these store for about 1-2 days. The chips will get soggy once they cool down and are in the fridge.
How to reheat Chicken Nachos?
Place your nachos on a plate and heat in the microwave. Or opt to reheat the nachos in the oven until the toppings are warmed up. Or if you want eat them cold.
Can I make ahead Chicken Nachos?
Pre-cook the chicken and prep the toppings if you would like. But I do recommend assembling and cooking your nachos right before servings. Otherwise the texture of the nachos won’t be what you want it to.
