I have developed a variety of food sensitivities over the years, which led me to start researching healthy alternatives. This is how I discovered that adapting to a clean eating diet could make a difference. So, this chicken fried rice is not only delicious, but it is also free from preservatives, additives, or any other nasty additions, allowing me to continue to avoid these unwanted ingredients while enjoying a dish I’ve eaten for years. 

What is the Secret Ingredient to Restaurant Fried Rice?

This will depend on the specific restaurant. However, many Chinese restaurant chefs use fish sauce. Fish sauce is a very flavorful sauce that consists of fermented fish, shallots, and other potent but delectable flavors. 

What Gives Chinese Fried Rice its Flavour?

Soy sauce is one of the main ingredients used in Chinese fried rice, but some Chinese chefs use fish sauce, which has a salty taste. 

How to Serve Clean Eating Chicken Fried Rice?

There are numerous ways to serve your clean eating chicken fried rice, and you can serve this dish alone, with egg rolls, or even with another Chinese like dish, such as shrimp, chicken, or beef. 

Clean Eating Chicken Fried Rice Cooking Tips:

  • Obviously, you want your clean eating chicken fried rice to taste as close to restaurant style as possible. To achieve this, you need to make certain that the oil is very hot before adding the rice, because otherwise the rice will stick to the pan. 
  • Also, you should make certain that you use high quality oil, which will help your dish turn out as delicious as possible.

Variations of Clean Eating Chicken Fried Rice:

It’s possible to vary your clean eating chicken fried rice recipe in hundreds of different ways. If you’d like to add certain vegetables or make any substitutions, then you can easily do so without compromising the recipe in the least. 

Ingredients:

For the Rice:

  • 1 cup long-grain brown rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water, room temp
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped white onions
  • 1 cup diced orange bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small chunks
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tbsp. lite soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • green onions, diced

How to make Clean Eating Chicken Fried Rice:

Rice:

Step 1. In a large pot, add rice, salt, and water.

Step 2. Stir to combine, and the water to a boil.

Step 3. Reduce heat to low and cover.

Step 4. Cook for 40 minutes or until tender and liquid is absorbed.

Step 5. Remove from heat and set to the side.

To Fry the Rice:

Step 1. In a small saute pan add the eggs and cook to a scramble.

Step 2. Remove from the pan and set to the side.

Step 3. Add olive oil to a large nonstick skillet or wok.

Step 4. Turn the heat to medium, add chicken, onions, pepper, garlic, and ginger.

Step 5. Stir to combine.

Step 6. Cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, until onions are translucent and chicken is cooked through.

Step 7. Add the rice and water.

Step 8. Stir to combine.

Step 9. Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil.

Step 10. Stir to combine.

Step 11. Add the cooked eggs and toss.

Step 12. Remove from the heat.

Step 13. Garnish with green onions.
