What type of Pork Chop should I be using?
I prefer to use Center Cut Pork Chops, with the bone still in. This helps keep the meat moist. If you can find thicker ones, these would be best.
Is there a certain type of Sauerkraut should I be using?
The brand does not matter, nor does it matter if it is canned or bagged. What needs to be done is that it needs to be drained extremely well.
Should I brown the Pork Chops first?
I do suggest that you sear the chops prior to putting them in the oven. The sear helps the meat stay juicy.
What other ingredients do I need for this?
Just a few simple ingredients that are likely already in your refrigerator or pantry. Onion, apple, brown sugar, Olive Oil.
How long should I cook the pork chops?
The best way to judge is to use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be 145*, the temp should be taken next to the bone.
How much Sauerkraut should I use?
The kraut is the main ingredient in this recipe. I would plan on at least 2 pounds.
