Ingredients for KFC Biscuits:

2 C. All purpose flour

1 ½ tsp. Salt

1 Tbsp. Sugar

4 tsp. Baking powder

¼ tsp. Baking soda

3 Tbsp. Shortening

4 Tbsp. Butter flavored Crisco

1 C. Buttermilk

Melted butter for garnish

How To Make KFC Biscuits:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Step 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and baking soda until well combined.

Step 3. Add the shortenings to the bowl, and cut into the dry ingredients with the tines of a fork until a crumbly dough forms.

Step 4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until a dough has formed.

Step 5. Lay the dough out on a floured surface, and knead until no longer sticky to the touch. Add more flour as needed.

Step 6. Separate the dough into two even pieces.

 

Step 7. Roll the dough out until ½ inch thick.

Step 8. Use a 2 inch cookie cutter to cut circles out of the dough.

 

Step 9. Place the circles of dough on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Step 10. Bake for 15 minutes and brush the tops with melted butter immediately after removing from the oven.
