I know that I am not alone when I say I miss my Grandma. Not just because I loved her, but because she made so many great foods! Those recipes are almost impossible to replicate. See, Grandma never wrote her recipes down, you either learned them while watching her cook or, like me, you try to figure out each ingredient.

One of the foods I really loved, and sure wish I had learned when I had the chance was Grandma’s Blueberry Glazed Biscuits.

Why are these biscuits better than any other recipe?

The Blueberry Glazed Biscuits are fluffy and light, they taste amazing and they do make a great breakfast. They are easy to make, contrary to what I thought. They will start the day out right and keep everyone happy until lunchtime.

Are there variations that I can use?

You could use any fruit, raspberries, strawberries, apples or even blackberries. You could add cinnamon and give them a little more flavor.

Ingredients:

Biscuits:

  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Butter
  • Buttermilk
  • Blueberries

Glaze:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Heavy cream
  • Vanilla extract
  • Lemon
  • Ground cinnamon

How To Make Grandma’s Blueberry Glazed Biscuits:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 400˚F and grease a large oven-proof skillet.

Step 2. In a large bowl, add small pieces of butter to a large bowl. Add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

Use your hands to combine all of the ingredients together.

Step 3. Add buttermilk (or milk and apple cider vinegar mixture) to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.

Gently fold through frozen blueberries to flour mixture.

Step 5. Place biscuits inside the greased skillet and put them into the oven. Bake for 30 minutes or until turning golden.

Step 6. While biscuits cook, make the glaze by combining all ingredients in a small bowl.

Step 7. Once the biscuits are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over the top of them and serve.
