Why I love this recipe
- This recipe brings back so many memories. Orange Creamsicle has always been one of my favorites. This recipe gives you the flavor you want and is super easy to make.
- You don’t need any fancy equipment to make this family friendly orange creamsicle milkshake recipe. You just need a blender. Other than that, all you need is the ingredients.
- This recipe makes a fairly small portion of Orange Creamsicle Milkshake, which you can adjust to make as many of them as you need.
- If you don’t have much cooking experience, that’s okay! This is an easy Orange Creamsicle Milkshake for beginners.

Ingredients:
- Vanilla extract — Just a little vanilla extract goes a long way in this recipe, especially alongside the ice cream.
- Heavy whipping cream — You want a fatty dairy in order to make this simple Orange Creamsicle Milkshake meal as creamy as possible. If you want a thinner milkshake or have dietary restrictions, many non-dairy milks will work.
- Vanilla ice cream — This classic childhood staple will be the base for our classic childhood milkshake. It’s perfect!
- Orange juice concentrate — After all, what’s an Orange Creamsicle Milkshake without orange?
- Granulated sugar — This may not be the most healthy Orange Creamsicle Milkshake version, but it sure is tasty!

Tips for Success:
If you just want to make one Orange Creamsicle Milkshake, you can halve the recipe. If you want to make more than just two shakes, you can even double the recipe! Be sure to halve or double each ingredient so that the flavor remains the same.
How do I store the Orange Creamsicle Milkshake?
This recipe lets you make a small portion of Orange Creamsicle Milkshake, so you’re unlikely to have leftovers to worry about. If there is any left over, though, you can store the remainder in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Be sure to stir the mixture up again before drinking it.
The milkshake can also be frozen for up to 2 months. When you want to serve it, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and stir before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
There are so many options for toppings to add to your Orange Creamsicle Milkshake. You could use orange zest, chocolate chips, nuts or a dollop of whipped topping. You could even combine several of these toppings for a very decadent-looking milkshake. Of course, you can also drink your shake as-is, without toppings. Make sure to have wide straws or spoons on hand!

Can I make this in advance?
Yes! This can be made ahead of time for a quick and refreshing cold treat. Store it in the fridge, per the above instructions.
How would I make an Orange Creamsicle Milkshake sweeter?
You can add more orange juice concentrate, you could add a simple syrup of sugar and water, or you could even add honey.
Do I have to use frozen Orange juice?
You do not need to use frozen Orange juice concentrate. However, it does help to keep the mixture cold longer. If you do not use frozen concentrate, you will need to add ice to the blender to achieve the same effect.
Can I use Coconut milk?
You can substitute Coconut milk in place of the heavy whipping cream. You may just want to add a little more sweetener.
Can I use this recipe to make popsicles out of the mix?
That would be perfect for making your own orange creamsicles. If you have the popsicle molds, go ahead and pour the mix into the molds and place them in the freezer to freeze.
Can I substitute dairy-free options for the dairy?
You certainly can. You could use Almond Milk, Coconut milk, or Soy Milk instead of the heavy whipping cream, and you can use dairy-free or lactose-free ice cream instead of the vanilla ice cream. The orange extract could actually be used in place of orange juice concentrate.
Could I make a different flavored Creamsicle?
Definitely. You can use any flavor that you can find a substitute for. For instance, you can use strawberry ice cream and strawberry syrup. You could even make Chocolate Creamsicles. This recipe is fairly simple, and the possibilities are endless!

It’s so much fun to be able to relive my childhood through such a simple little treat. This is the best Orange Creamsicle Milkshake recipe that I’ve found anywhere, and I’m happy to share it with everyone else. Enjoy this taste of childhood, and be sure to share it with anyone you think would like it, too.
