Tips

  • Ensure the cream cheese has reached room temperature as it will be easier to mix and will lead to a smoother dip.
  • To bring cream cheese to room temperature place on the counter for 15-20 minutes or unwrap and place in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 10-15 second intervals, checking in between to see if it has softened.
  • Use an electric mixer to make sure everything is whipped nice and smooth. Not only is this quicker, it will make the dip creamier.
  • Dry the shrimp before chopping and adding to the dip to avoid a watery consistency.
  • Serve this as a hot or cold dip. To heat, transfer the dip to an oven safe pan and bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until warmed through.
  • Make this dip at least an hour in advance to give the flavors time to meld.
