First Step: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with some cooking spray and preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Second Step: Combine the butter pecan cake mix, pecan frosting, eggs, oil, and half and half together in a medium-sized bowl. Mix well, then combine the chopped pecans.

Can I Bake This Cake In A Bundt Pan?
Yes, if you would rather have this pecan praline cake as a bundt cake, that’s more than fine. The piece of cake will still be soft, tender, and moist! You will need to follow the same directions, except the cooking time may vary a little bit. Bundt cakes usually tend to take a little bit longer to bake than traditional cakes.
For best results, you want to pick a non-stick bundt pan. You will be thanking yourself when it’s time to remove the cake from the pan. Also, when greasing the pan, make sure to do it thoroughly. Otherwise, it may stick and fall apart when you attempt to take it out of the bundt pan. After you bake the cake, only let it cool for 10-20 minutes in the bundt pan. Then you need to turn it upside down and remove the cake. If you let the cake stay in the pan too long, it will be next to impossible to get it out in one piece.
Can I Add Coconut To The Pecan Praline Cake?
Yes! Adding coconut to the southern pecan cake is a wonderful idea! You can toast some coconut and sprinkle it on top of the glaze or mix it into the cake itself. I think it is a nicer texture as a topping, but it’s completely up to you.
Can I Add Caramel To The Top?
Yes, adding caramel to the top of the cake will make it even more delicious…if that’s possible! Drizzle on some of your favorite caramel for a special treat. I would use it with the butter pecan glaze because the flavors will complement each other. Or if you would rather just use caramel, that’s more than fine too. Try it out both ways until you have it the way you like it best.

How Do You Store Southern Pecan Praline Cake?
I find that this southern butter pecan cake is very versatile. You can store it on the counter in an airtight container or in the refrigerator. Either way, the pecan praline cake lasts around 3-4 days as long as it’s kept airtight and away from heat sources.
If you are wondering if the cake is still good, look it over before eating. If you notice it seems extra dry, overly moist, or has any kind of mold, then it’s no longer safe to eat and should be thrown out. Also, as cake ages, it because to develop a strange odor.
Can I Freeze Southen Butter Pecan Cake?
Yes, you can easily freeze this southern butter pecan cake! Either wrap up individual pieces or freeze the entire cake. Use plastic wrap or aluminum foil then put the cake in a storage container or freezer bag. It will last 1-2 months in the freezer, and it’s lovely as leftovers. Just let it defrost on the counter or in the fridge before serving.
