Why I love taco salad
I enjoy taco salad because there are so many different ways you can dress it up to make it your “own.” In other words, there is no “one recipe fits all” when it comes to making the best taco salad recipe. I prefer adding sour cream, avocado, and tomatoes to make mine a little bit healthier.
What’s the difference between nachos and taco salad?
Nachos don’t consist of lettuce like taco salad does. Nachos also don’t require a dressing. Taco salad is typically served cold while nachos are served hot. Also, tortilla chips are generally used when making nachos.

How to serve taco salad

When making the ground beef for your taco salad, drain the grease prior to adding the taco seasoning.

You can use ground beef or ground turkey to make your taco salad. Different toppings can be used, depending on your personal preference.
Ingredients:
- Ground beef
- Taco seasoning
- Onion
- Minced garlic
- Red kidney beans
- French dressing
- Lettuce
- Roma tomatoes
- Green onions
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Tortilla chips crushed
- Sour cream and salsa for garnish
How to make Taco Salad:
Step 1. Cook the ground beef and onions in a skillet over medium-high heat on the stove until the meat is completely browned and the onions are starting to become tender.
Step 2. Add the taco seasoning and minced garlic to the skillet, and stir to combine.
Step 3. Pour the kidney beans and French dressing into the skillet, stir to combine, and lower the heat to low.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes, and then remove from the heat to cool slightly.
Step 4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lettuce, tomato, and green onions.
Step 5. Add the crushed tortilla chips and top with the meat mixture. Toss to combine well.
Step 6. Stir in the cheese and then garnish with sour cream and salsa before serving.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb. Ground beef
- 1 Packet Taco seasoning
- ½ Onion , Medium, chopped
- 2 tsp. Minced garlic
- 1 Can Red kidney beans , Drained
- 1 Bottle French dressing
- 1 Bag Shredded lettuce
- 2 Roma tomatoes , Small, chopped
- ⅓ C. Green onions, Chopped
- 1 ½ C. Shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 Bag Tortilla chips crushed
- Sour cream and salsa for garnish

Instructions
