Ingredients for Cinnamon Sugared Pecans
1 large egg white
4 C pecan pieces
½ C sugar
2 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp kosher salt
1 large cookie sheet with parchment paper
Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
Egg whites: You can use pre-made egg whites, which are liquid and often available at larger supermarkets, if you don’t have any eggs on hand.
Pecans: Swap the pecans for your favorite nuts if you’re not a fan of pecans. You can use walnuts or almonds, if you prefer. This recipe is so versatile you can mix a combination of nuts together, if you prefer.
Sugar: If you want to skip out on using classic white sugar, you can do so with an alternative option. There are many sugar alternatives available today. Some include the use of stevia and monk fruit. You can often find white, powdered, and brown sugar replacements that are zero-calorie and do not cause your glucose to spike. Most alternatives on the market today, including Swerve, offer sugar-free alternatives that are completely safe for diabetics and those who are watching their sugar or carbohydrate intake. Alternative sugars are ideal if you’re looking for a healthy cinnamon sugared pecans version.
Ground cinnamon: It’s not recommended to remove the ground cinnamon from this simple cinnamon sugared pecans meal recipe, as it is the star of the show. The ground cinnamon paired with sugar is a classic! However, if you prefer simply sugared pecans, you can omit it.
How to Make It
Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a large cookie sheet with parchment paper. Parchment paper is key, as it will prevent the sugar and cinnamon from becoming stuck to the bottom of your pan.
Step 2. Using a hand beater, beat the egg white until frothy. You can also beat the egg white by hand, but it will require a bit of strength and a few more minutes than if you’re using an electric mixer.
Step 3. Fold the pecans into the egg whites until coated evenly. Be sure to mix thoroughly so all of your pecans are covered completely.

Step 4. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cinnamon and salt until combined. Mixing the dry ingredients separately will help them combine without a hassle and without any stickiness.
Step 5. Mix the combined ingredients into the pecans and toss until the pecans are coated.

Step 6. Spread evenly onto the cookie sheet (with parchment paper).
Step 7. Place in the oven for 15 minutes!

Step 8. Allow cooling before enjoying! Allowing your pecans (or almonds and/or walnuts) to cool will let the mixture settle onto the nuts. This will prevent them from becoming sticky or leaving any residue behind. I know it’s tempting to start eating these family friendly cinnamon sugared pecans immediately, but it’s best to wait! Trust the process!

Tips for Success
Measure out your ingredients ahead of time for smooth sailing once you get started.
If you’re using an alternative sugar, be sure to check the ratios called for when placing them in this mixture. Some alternative sugars are extra sweet in taste, which means you may not need as much as you would if you were using traditional white, granulated sugar.
Storage & Reheating
One of the great things about this recipe is that you can store your cinnamon sugared pecans without a hassle. Place them in an airtight container or Ziploc bag and keep them in your fridge for up to 2 weeks! As long as they’re in an airtight container, they’re remain fresher.
It’s not recommended or necessary to freeze these pecans. You can reheat them by placing refrigerated pecans into a 300-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until they reach the right warm temperature!
