For someone like me, who’s always on the go, being able to drop all the ingredients in the crock pot is a lifesaver. Yes, slow-cook meals take longer to get ready. But there’s no hassle because you don’t have to do a thing, and this Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki promised everything!

Take my favorite slow-cooker recipe, Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki. It’s so easy to make, and it’s a crowd-pleaser too. Everyone in my family loves it, from the kids to Grandma.

Oh, and if you don’t like chicken thighs (like me!), you can substitute them with chicken breasts.

Is It a Healthy Dish?

Yes! As with any dish, it’s best to check out the nutritional values of your ingredients. This recipe mostly has healthy, wholesome ingredients like chicken broth and honey. The teriyaki sauce adds some flavorful sweetness without adding too many extra calories.

What Variations Can I Try?

Feel free to mix it up a bit. You can replace the teriyaki sauce with your favorite BBQ sauce or swap the chicken broth for vegetable broth. I’ve tried it with maple syrup once, and it was tasty too.

Can I Add Veggies to Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki?

Absolutely! I love adding some sliced bell peppers and mushrooms. It gives a nice crunch and flavor to the dish. But make sure you add them later in the process, or they’ll get soggy.

What to Serve with Teriyaki Chicken?

It depends on when you’re serving it. I like to serve it with some stir-fried veggies and rice if it’s for a weeknight dinner. For more of a party feel, noodles or even popcorn shrimp would be great.

As for the drinks, a nice cold beer always works for us. The kids get their favorite fruit juice.

Ingredients:

  • Boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Teriyaki sauce
  • Chicken broth
  • Brown sugar
  • Honey
  • Minced garlic
  • Green onions for garnish

How to make Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki:

Step 1. Place the chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, honey, and minced garlic in the slow cooker, and stir to combine.

Step 2. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and add them to the slow cooker. Toss to coat in the sauce.

Step 3. Place the lid on the slow cooker, and cook on high for four hours.
