If you have the time (and desire), then why not? It’s an easy cook, and you can tweak it according to your taste. You can also save the leftovers in an air-tight jar or container for future use.
When I make mine (SOMETIMES), I use butter, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and pepper. I also add the liquid from my mushroom tin for more flavor. it’s my secret ingredient and trust me the flavor is SO damn good!

Tips for Success
- Prepare Extra Sauce:
This is my best (and the one you really need) tip for you. Trust me; you don’t want to make the sauce all over again because it wasn’t enough the first time. Lasagna sheets (or any other pasta, for that matter) soak up the liquid in no time.
- Prevent Lasagna Sheets from Tearing:
Lasagna sheets will stick and tear when you boil them. So, I cook them al dente and keep them in a bowl of cold water after. I also occasionally stir (extremely gently) and drizzle some olive oil.
- Salt Your Water:
Don’t skip the salt, please. It really enhances the flavor of your lasagna sheet. And you’ll drain 99% of it anyway, so your BP won’t shoot.
- Use Freshly Grated Cheese:
It’ll give the best flavor and texture to your rollups. Trust me; you don’t want rubbery cheese here. It will dry your top.
- Bake Until Steamy and Cheesy:
This is more of a must-do because it brings out the flavors. And who doesn’t like bubbly, melted cheese?
Can I Make This Dish Ahead of Time?
You can make it a night in advance. Assemble as instructed and cover tightly before putting them in your fridge. Add a few extra minutes to your baking time the next day.
How to Store the Leftovers?
If you have any leftovers, cover them with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 days.
Can I Freeze the Rollups?
You can. Just do so before baking. Cover your rolls in foil and then double pack in a freezer bag to avoid freezer burn. They’ll be okay for two months.
How to Reheat?
If you’re reheating small portions, your microwave will do just fine. But if you’re reheating a big batch, do so in the oven.
