What makes this recipe so super easy, is that you can use a packaged cake mix as the foundation of your batter. We aren’t stopping there, though. To truly create a delectable coffee cake mixture, we’ll doctor this cake mix with cinnamon, extra eggs, and sour cream. Don’t worry, the sour cream doesn’t take away from the delicious sweetness in this coffee cake, but it does make it incredibly moist. Coffee cakes often run the risk of being dry and crumbly. You will not need to worry about that with this recipe, though.
To top it off, both figuratively and literally, a homemade coffee cake glaze is drizzled over top of the warm dessert. A little apple pie spice in the glaze? But of course.
Ready to take this amazing dessert to another level? Serve it warm with a little vanilla ice cream on the side. This dish also leaves over well for morning coffee the next day. Dessert for breakfast? You deserve it, being the amazing chef you are.
