How can I make cream cheese frosting better?

First and foremost, it’s important to use high-quality ingredients. Opt for full-fat cream cheese and unsalted butter, as these will give you the best texture and flavor. You’ll also want to sift your powdered sugar to ensure a smooth, lump-free frosting.

Why is my cream cheese frosting always runny?

One possible cause is that the butter and cream cheese were not at room temperature before being mixed. Cold ingredients can cause the frosting to have a lumpy texture and be too thick or runny. It’s important to add liquids slowly and only as much as needed to achieve the desired consistency.

Why is my banana cake chewy?

One possibility is that you’re overmixing the batter, which can result in the gluten strands becoming overdeveloped and the cake becoming tough and chewy. To avoid this, be sure to mix the batter just until the ingredients are combined and smooth, taking care not to overwork it.

Why does banana cake need baking soda?

Banana cake requires baking soda because it helps the cake rise and become fluffy. Baking soda is a leavening agent that reacts with the acid in the bananas, which activates the baking soda and creates carbon dioxide gas. The gas then traps air bubbles in the batter, causing the cake to rise.
