This is the type of dish to make when you do not want to heat the kitchen for a long period of time. You can serve this dish with steamed rice. You could also serve it with pasta or mashed potatoes.

Why is this the best recipe?

I love this recipe as it tastes much more authentic to the original dish than many others I have tried. I do highly suggest using the thighs as is called for in the recipe.

Variations

Authenticity states that the Chicken thighs are what is to be used for this dish. If you are not one to eat the dark meat, go ahead and use the Chicken Breast. Be sure that it is boneless and skinless.

Ingredients:

  • Boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • Soy sauce
  • Water
  • Minced garlic
  • Ginger paste
  • Sugar

How to make Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken:

Step 1. Add the soy sauce, water, minced garlic, ginger paste, and sugar to a Ziploc bag.

Adding the ginger paste.

Step 2. Cut the chicken into pieces and put it into the Ziploc bag.

Shake to combine, and marinate overnight.

Step 3. Preheat the grill.

Step 4. Add the chicken to the grill and cook until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Instructions

You can definitely freeze the Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken. You can transfer it to a freezer-safe container when it is cooled completely. The Chicken can be stored for up to 3 or 4 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight.

To reheat the Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken, place the Chicken on a parchment-lined baking tray and place it in a preheated 350* oven. You should heat for 5 to 8 minutes or until heated through.
